RICK BRAUN

Trumpet & Vocals

If you’ve ever seen him perform, you know what a high-energy entertainer he is. A consistent chart-topper and two-time winner of the Gavin Report’s Smooth Jazz Artist of the Year award who has amassed a catalogue of #1 Billboard Contemporary Jazz chart and radio hits, Rick Braun has remained modest. A native of Allentown/Pennsylvania, the trumpeter, vocalist, composer and producer first surfaced as a member of the jazz-fusion outfit Auracle. After two LPs the group disbanded, and Braun turned to songwriting, scoring a hit with REO Speedwagon’s “Here with Me”. That was his entry, and he became a highly-respected sideman touring and recording with Rod Stewart, Sade, Tina Turner, Natalie Cole and Tom Petty. When his own Single “Cadillac Slim” had become a big hit, he had to either continue touring with Rod or really commit to his solo career. Instinctually he made the decision right away and never looked back. Rick has not only crafted his own, but also many (#1) hits for other musicians. He’s also a member of RnR (with Richard Elliot) and BWB (with Norman Brown and Kirk Whalum).
