JAVIER COLON

Vocals

Singer-songwriter-guitarist Javier Colon hails from Connecticut. The son of a Dominican father and a Puerto Rican mother emerged as a musical prodigy early in life. Soon after graduating from the University of Hartford’s Hartt School of Music with a degree in Music Education, he first became lead singer of the neo-funk group EmCQ and after that he spent two years touring with Derek Trucks Band, as their lead singer. After striking out on his own, Javier’s career took an unexpected but propitious turn in 2011, when he became the winner on the inaugural season of NBC’s “The Voice”. His coach on “The Voice” was Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine, so Javier played a series of concerts in Mexico and South America with that band. He has also been part of the Dave Koz Cruises and his collaboration with the renowned jazz saxophonist also includes a run of shows in Japan. Blessed with an incredibly soulful voice, a charismatic personality and a commanding stage presence, Javier has already won the attention of an international fan base. They embrace his blend of pop, rock and R&B – a distinctive style that Javier’s dubbed “acoustic soul”.
